State Rural Health Advocacy

Rural Hospital Financial Data

NRHA works with longtime partners Chartis Center for Rural Health to develop state-specific reports on the impact federal policies have on rural hospitals. Hospital specific data can be found on provider type and operating margin, including potential revenue loss, job loss, and GDP loss on current policies impacting rural hospitals. Chartis also provides national and state data on hospital closures and vulnerability and hospital operating margins. View your state’s rural hospital data via the interactive map below.

Rural Health Data by State & Congressional District

NRHA, in partnership with Stroudwater Associates and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH), has developed an integrated data visualization dashboard of healthcare infrastructure, workforce, outcomes, and status metrics. These tools will help policymakers, state and community leaders, rural health advocates, provider organizations and researchers understand the impact and status of rural health within each state and congressional district.

Access your local data the Rural Health Profiles tool.

Medicaid Enrollment by Congressional District

The Congressional District Health Dashboard provides 40 measures of data on health and its drivers for all 435 U.S. congressional districts and Washington, D.C., including illustrating the percentage of the total population in each congressional district that is enrolled in Medicaid. The Dashboard was created by a team at the Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
