NRHA continues partnership to advance rural oral health

The National Rural Health Association is excited to continue our partnership with the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health to advance the National Rural Oral Health Initiative into its sixth cycle. This initiative focuses on policy, communications, education, and research to raise awareness and prioritize person-centered care in rural areas.

As part of this cycle, NRHA is pleased to launch the Rural Oral Health Seminar Toolkit, now available on the NRHA website. Developed in collaboration with the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, the toolkit aims to strengthen the rural oral health workforce by introducing dental students to the benefits of working in rural communities. Research shows that dental students are more likely to practice in rural areas if they have ties to or experience in those communities.

The toolkit provides valuable resources for dental schools, students, and community leaders to create successful rural oral health seminars.

In addition, NRHA is opening the call for submissions for the 2025 Compendium of Oral Health Best Practices. This project aims to showcase programs and initiatives that improve oral health quality and access for rural communities across the country. The submission deadline is Monday, March 31 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
