President Trump Nominates Alex Azar for HHS Secretary

President Donald Trump has chosen Alex Azar to replace Eric Hargan as acting Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary. Azar was the Deputy Secretary of HHS under President George W. Bush (2005-2007). He is currently the President of Lilly USA, LLC, the largest affiliate of global biopharmaceutical leader Eli Lily, where he has worked since 2012.

Hearings will soon be scheduled by the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee to consider his nomination, and will be followed by a confirmation vote by the Senate. NRHA will continue to monitor the situation and we will update the blog with more information as it becomes available.
