House Republicans elect McCarthy, Scalise to leadership
House Republicans today elected Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as their new Majority Leader. Rep. McCarthy will replace Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) who is stepping down from the position after he lost his primary last week. House Republicans chose Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) to replace Rep. McCarthy as the House majority whip.
