Dr. Mostashari will leave ONC this fall


Dr. Farzad Mostashari will be stepping down as National Coordinator for Health Information Technology this fall. Dr. Mostashari joined the Office of the National Coordinator Health Information Technology (ONC) in 2009 as Principal Deputy National Coordinator and became National Coordinator in 2011. He will continue to serve as National Coordinator until a successor is named. ONC coordinates nationwide efforts to implement and advance health information technology and the electronic exchange of health information. The role of the National Coordinator was created by a 2004 Executive Order and legislative mandated in the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act of 2009.
