Senate Appropriations Committee passes Labor-HHS spending bill


The Senate Appropriations Committee passed the Departments of Labor, Education, and Health and Human Services (HHS) fiscal year 2014 spending bill in a 16-14 vote Thursday. The bill appropriates $164.3 billion to these programs, $42.5 billion more than the House allocated. Included in the appropriations is $5.2 billion needed to implement the Affordable Care Act.
