Rural Populations
There are many populations within our rural communities that are disproportionately impacted by not only socioeconomic status disadvantages, but also face many other health inequities within rural areas. Rural populations often encounter barriers that limit their ability to obtain the care they need. Addressing rural inequities and declining life expectancy rates are a top priority for NRHA. The federal investment in rural health programs is a small portion of health care spending, but is critical to rural Americans. We encourage you to utilize the following advocacy materials and external resources when you are advocating for rural health equity and specific rural populations!
